Carbon molecular sieves are primarily composed of elemental carbon and appear as black, cylindrical solids. Due to a high concentration of micropores with a diameter of 4 angstroms-which exhibit a strong, rapid affinity for oxygen molecules-they are used to separate oxygen and nitrogen from the air; industrially, they are employed in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems to produce nitrogen. Carbon molecular sieves offer high nitrogen output, high recovery rates, and a long service life; compatible with various types of PSA nitrogen generators, they are the preferred choice for such equipment.
Nitrogen production via carbon molecular sieve air separation is widely used in industries such as petrochemicals, metal heat treatment, electronics manufacturing, and food preservation.
