Preparation Methods for Carbon Molecular Sieves

Jul 03, 2026 Leave a message

There are two primary methods for preparing carbon molecular sieves: the template method and the self-assembly method.

Template Method: This method involves using organic or inorganic template molecules to form a pore structure under specific conditions; the template molecules are subsequently removed to yield a carbon molecular sieve material with a defined porous structure. Carbon molecular sieves prepared via this method exhibit a relatively ordered pore structure, as well as high specific surface area and pore volume.

Self-Assembly Method: This method relies on interactions between carbon atoms to form an ordered pore structure at high temperatures; subsequent surface modification results in a carbon molecular sieve material with a highly porous structure. Carbon molecular sieves prepared using this method possess high porosity and chemical stability.
