Main Components of Carbon Molecular Sieves

Carbon

Carbon is the primary material of carbon molecular sieves; it forms a well-defined spatial structure within the sieve, imparting high selectivity and activity. Various sources of carbon are used, including dead plant matter, coal, fine-particle natural graphite, cellulose, and glucose.

Activated Alumina

Activated alumina serves as an auxiliary agent that facilitates the formation of microporous and mesoporous structures within the molecular sieve, thereby increasing pore size and enhancing activity. Additionally, it improves the sieve's thermal stability and chemical corrosion resistance, extending its service life.

Borax

Borax acts as an additive that influences the formation process of the molecular sieve, enhancing pore dimensions and processability. It also improves heat, acid, and alkali resistance, resulting in a more stable molecular sieve.
